About Jody

Jody grew up in Greensboro, North Carolina and received her degree in Business and Economics from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Following college, she accepted a job in Atlanta. In 1995, after exploring the area, Jody settled in Sandy Springs, where she raised her family. Jody lives in the 4th District with her husband Ken Reichel. Her children, Carly and Jay, recently graduated from North Springs Charter High School and now attend Tulane University and Georgia Tech.

In addition to raising her children, Jody has devoted her time to performing charitable service, volunteering in her children’s schools and working as a real estate investor. Jody is an avid runner, completing 27 marathons and can often be found doing Crossfit at a local gym.

During her children’s school years, Jody actively participated in the parent teacher organizations (PTO). She served as a vice president of the PTO at The Davis Academy and later as president of the PTO at North Springs. Jody won Volunteer of the Year at North Springs for the 2014-2015 school year.

Community service has always been a major priority in her life. In addition to assisting various organizations, Jody initiated The Holiday Gift Program at Jewish Family and Career Services. Since its inception 22 years ago, the program has provided Christmas, Hanukkah and Kwanzaa gifts to hundreds of families suffering from economic challenges. Over the years, she has volunteered with Family Promise, Girls on The Run, Hands on Atlanta, Sandy Springs Education Force, Junior Achievement, Trees Atlanta, Winship Cancer Institute, and Northside Hospital. She was Volunteer of the Year at North Springs High School in 2015.
