In her 25 years of residing in Sandy Springs, Jody has worked to make her community a great place in which to live and work. With her two children now in college, Jody would like to represent her community on the Sandy Springs City Council. As a councilwoman, Jody will focus her efforts on smart business development, traffic challenges, pedestrian green space, and council-school relations in her district.

Two candidates — Jody Reichel and Le’Dor Milteer  — vying for the City Council District 4 seat make for the only competitive race and the only one that will appear on the Nov. 7 ballot, the city says.

Reichel is a 25-year resident of the city who has said she is focused on improving the quality of life. “If I am fortunate enough to serve our community, I would focus my time and energy on important issues such as traffic challenges, smart business development, and continuing efforts to make Sandy Springs a walkable city,” she said in a campaign announcement statement.

Jody's Accomplishments as PTO President of North Springs High School

Jody served as the PTO President of North Springs High School for the years of 2013, 2014 and 2015. Her accomplishments include:

Converted North Springs from a Parent Teacher Association to a Parent Teacher Organization, saving thousands of dollars each year and gave North Springs the ability to fund specific needs.

Established an award of $1,000 for Teacher of the Year, $500 each for Professional and Paraprofessional of the year.

Established four $500 scholarships for graduating seniors.

Raised funds and led the renovation of the teacher's lounge, school store, both the basketball and football concession stands and glass showcases in the hallway.

Spearheaded the purchase and installation of a new sound system in the football stadium.

Drove fundraising efforts for and installed new all-weather benches at the entrance of the school.

Facilitated the collaboration between the PTO, Spartan Athletic Booster, the North Springs Foundation and school administration to more effectively support the teachers and students of North Springs.

Participated in projects with Leadership Sandy Springs at North Springs.
